Riley Warriors, Inc., is a non-profit organization formed by family and friends of Riley McClanahan, the 6-year-old son of Robert McClanahan, vice president of information technology for Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation.

The group that became "Riley's Warriors" originated as members of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ rallied around the family.

“We have been overwhelmed at the community support for our efforts to assist the families of special needs children,” McClanahan said. “Our family was blessed with a support system that enabled my family to ensure that Riley received the care he needed. We are trying to pass this blessing on to others.”

In addition to efforts of their own, Riley’s Warriors is eager to back efforts that help Easter Seals Arkansas, an organization that has helped Riley, who suffers from physical impairments similar to those left by a stroke. When he was 2 weeks old, a blood vessel in his brain ruptured.

Two years ago, McClanahan and his daughters, then ages eight and six, published a book about Riley entitled "God's Perfect Child," a book that is primarily pictures of Riley and drawings done by his sisters. Each page contains a simple statement about Riley, highlighting the challenges faced by children with special needs.

As a non-profit corporation, Riley's Warriors, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of nine members. In addition, an Honorary Chairman of the Board, five Honorary Directors and an Executive Director provide input into the organization. The organization is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (TIN 20-0410881).
