Our primary focus is to assist children with special needs and their families. That assistance can take on a lot of different forms. As we have applied our the mission statement above, we've been led to participate in the following efforts:
Respite Care - Every six weeks or so, Riley’s Warriors hosts a respite care day in Little Rock, Arkansas for the families of children with special needs. We have special educators, therapists, nurses and social workers who volunteer to spend the day with disabled children so that their parents can have time to run errands, take in a movie or just have some quiet time. We have cared for as few as two children and as many as six, limited only by the number of skilled workers that are available on any particular date. These events are held in the facilities of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
Special Needs School - Riley’s Warriors is exploring the possibility of establishing a private special needs elementary school in Little Rock, Arkansas to accommodate the needs of special children that do not meet the entrance requirements of other private special needs schools, and who for various reasons are unable to attend a public school.
God’s Perfect Child – This book about Riley, written by his father and his sisters, is used to help educate children and adults about disabilities and the people who are affected by them. The proceeds from the sale of this book are used to support the various efforts of the Organization.
Bible Study Curriculum – Riley’s Warriors has developed a set of Bible Study curricula to help people understand how to find blessing in the midst of life’s challenges. The proceeds from the sale of these study guides are used to support the various efforts of the Organization.
