Annual Meeting Held on November 2nd

The Riley's Warriors 2006 Annual Meeting was held on November 2nd and elections for Directors were held. Sabra Curry was elected to serve a three-year term on the Board, and Michael Keck and Linda Parker were re-elected for 3-year terms (see the full Board Roster).

The Board wishes to thank Tamara Bellcock who just completed a two-year term and rotated off the Board. She served the organization faithfully during her time on the Board.

At the regular Board meeting that followed the Annual Meeting, the Board elected officers for 2006-2007. They are: Robert H. McClanahan, Chair; Jeff Spry, Vice Chair; Jerry Burchfield, Treasurer; and Tara Richardson, Secretary.

Legal & Financial Planning for the Special Needs Family

On Thursday, November 16th, Riley's Warriors will host the second in the Riley's Warriors Seminar Series. Coleman Westbrook, of Friday, Eldredge and Clark, and Rick Adkins, of Arkansas Financial Group, will a free seminar entitled: Legal & Financial Planning for the Special Needs Family (flyer).

Announcing the Riley's Warriors Seminar Series

Beginning Thursday, October 12th, Riley's Warriors will host a series of free monthly seminars on topics of interest to the Special Needs Community. Dr. Eddie Shields, of the Arkansas Allergy and Asthma Clinic, will be presenting on Food Hypersensitivity (flyer). The seminar will take place at 6:30pm at the Pleasant Valley Church in Little Rock (map). Again, the seminar is free. RSVP to contact2008@rileyswarriors.org or (501) 803-9561.

The second of the series will be on Thursday, November 16th and will address Financial/Legal Planning for the Special Needs Child. The presenters will be Rick Adkins of The Arkansas Financial Group and Coleman Westbrook of the Friday Law Firm. More info to follow soon.

There will be no seminar in December, due to the Holidays, but the series will resume in January. Watch here for the schedule for 2007.

Golf Tournament a HUGE Success!

Respite Care Scheduled for February 25th

The next Riley's Warriors Respite Care event is scheduled for Saturday, February 25th, from 4-8PM. This will be our first evening event, structured to allow parents to go out for the evening. Registration is open from February 10-17. See the Respite Care page for more information.

Date Set for 2006 Riley's Warriors Golf Classic

We are pleased to announce that the 2006 Riley's Warriors Golf Classic has been scheduled for May 1st at Eagle Hill Golf Club. Last year's event was an awful lot of fun and this year promises to be even better. You can find more information in the coming weeks on our Golf Tournament page.
