A record number of 900 people turned out in Little Rock’s River Market District on August 23 to participate in Easter Seals Arkansas’ 2003 Rollin’ on the River 5K Run/2K Family Fun Walk.
The race was sanctioned by the Little Rock Roadrunners Club, which supervised the timing and scoring of the event. Awards were given to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top three male and female Master Division finishers as well as the top male and female finishers in various age categories.
Radio personalities Becky Rogers, from B98.5, JB and Meci of Country 102.9 and Heather and D.C., from Alice 107.7, emceed the event. Renee Shapiro and Justin Acri, news anchors on KATV Channel 7, presented awards to winners and sponsors of the event.
Ninety-nine percent of all money raised stays in Arkansas to support local programs and services.
